The Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists
AVA is an active, enthusiastic group of veterinary surgeons and others who share an interest in animal anaesthesia.

British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists
BRAVO is an organisation for veterinary surgeons in the UK and beyond who have a special interest in ophthalmology. They educate and train veterinary surgeons in veterinary ophthalmology, and promote the practice, teaching and research of animal ophthalmology.

British Veterinary Dental Association
BVDA aim to educate and train Veterinary and Dental Surgeons in animal dentistry and to promote practice, teaching and research of animal dentistry.

European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites
ESCCAP UK is formed from a group of leaders in veterinary parasitology and veterinary public health within Europe, who have created guidelines for the optimal control of internal and external parasites that threaten the health of pets and people.

Vet Helpline
The Vet Helpline provides a 24-hour rapid response answerphone for confidential, empathetic discussion of problems with someone who has experience of the veterinary profession, to veterinary profession, to veterinary surgeons, nurses and students. Callers are referred on for specialist help where appropriate.

Veterinary Association for Arbitration & Jurisprudence
VAAJ acts as a bridge between the legal and veterinary professions. They promote interest within the profession in the study of all aspects of Jurisprudence, Arbitration, Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Includes a register of expert witnesses.

Veterinary Benevolent Fund
VBF is a charity that provides for veterinary surgeons and their dependents when in financial difficulty.

Veterinary Cardiovascular Society
VCS promote the study and development of veterinary cardiology in all species.

Veterinary History Society
VHS aims to foster all aspects of veterinary history and membership is open to any person interested in the subject.

Veterinary Laboratories Agency
VLA provides all sectors of the animal health industry with animal disease surveillance, diagnostic services and veterinary scientific research.

Veterinary Medicines Directorate
VMD are an executive agency of DEFRA responsible for authorising and controlling the manufacture and availability of veterinary medicines amongst other things.

Veterinary Northern Ireland
VetNI provide a single, point of contact for the veterinary profession and co-ordinate the activities of the veterinary organisations in NI. They also co-ordinate CPD of vet surgeons and vet nurses in NI.

Veterinary Surgeons Health Support Programme
Confidential, professional help with alcohol, drug and other addiction and mental health issues, is provided to veterinary surgeons, nurses and students, if they are worried about themselves or a colleague.

Vetlife
Vetlife is designed to provide information about the support available to veterinary students, veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons on a wide range of issues from both the established veterinary care organisations and from outside the profession.
