Structure

BVA Council is made up of 41 members. Each member has one vote.

2 affiliate representatives from BVNA and VPMA also sit on Council as non-voting members

Elections

Elections for regional representatives were conducted by the BVA on a one member one vote basis. The winner in each region was the candidate with the most votes.  Any member resident in the region was eligible to put themselves forward for the position of regional representative.

Tenure

Each representative is elected for a term of three years. At the end of three years a representative will be eligible for election for a second term of three years.

After two consecutive terms of three years a representative will not be eligible for re-election to the same position. However, after a gap of three years they may stand for election again.
