Euthanasia and treatment choice

In this section you can find out more about issues relating to euthanasia and the role of the vet in treatment choice that may be of interest to members of the British Veterinary Association.

Background

Recent advances in surgery and pharmaceuticals have greatly increased the treatment options available to vets. In addition, euthanasia of an animal is an important part of veterinary work. Both of these situations can involve some difficult decisions to be made by both clients and veterinary surgeons.
