BVA Animal Welfare Foundation

In this section you can find out more about the British Veterinary Association Animal Welfare Foundation (BVA AWF).

The BVA AWF is the veterinary profession’s own animal welfare charity. It aims to improve the welfare of all animals through veterinary science, education and debate.

The BVA AWF is not a policy-making body; however it discreetly contributes to BVA policy though highlighting and promoting debate on pertinent welfare issues which are taken forward by the BVA's Ethics and Welfare Group.

At BVA AWF we aim to apply the knowledge, skill and compassion of veterinary surgeons in an effective way by

funding a variety of projects and activities
producing educational material for the veterinary profession and general public

We publish details of our grant making, funding for veterinary research and educational material in our annual review.
