This section details the British Veterinary Association’s (BVA) work in Europe
This section has five parts including
BVA's voice
Today most veterinary legislation originates in Brussels and it is vital that BVA has a voice within the Commission, the European Parliament and among Member States within Council.
To influence legislation most effectively, BVA needs to be involved at an early stage of the drafting of a proposal and to keep open communication channels with the decision-makers throughout the process.
BVA achieves this by working with the European umbrella association, the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), where UK representatives attend General Assemblies and working groups and visit UK Members of the European Parliament.
