Strategic goals

These strategic goals provide guidance for the Association as it continues to evolve to meet the challenges of the changes within the veterinary profession and the market within which it operates.  It is an ongoing and dynamic process.

The BVA aims to

  • determine and represent the views of the majority of UK veterinary professionals on matters of veterinary policy, ethics and animal welfare
  • be the first source of informed opinion on veterinary issues for government, veterinary surgeons, the media, charities, consumer groups and the public in the UK
  • engage fully with individual members and divisions to speak with one voice
  • be the leading provider of veterinary news and information, including clinical and scientific developments to the membership and the wider veterinary community
  • develop services that members value
  • grow the membership to continue to be the leading UK veterinary professional body
  • ensure adequate resources are in place for current and future needs in delivering the objectives
