Organisational membership
Information on the BVA organisational membership scheme
From 1st January 2009, BVA is introducing a new organisational membership scheme.
This will mean that employers of organisations, including practices, can potentially save hundreds of pounds on the cost of membership for their employees.
In fact, individual members can save up to 60% of the cost of their normal subscription and still receive all the same great benefits.
2009 organisational membership rates
| Number of employees |
2009 rates |
| 1-10 employees |
£1,000 |
| 11-15 employees |
£1,500 |
| Each additional 5 employees |
£500 |
To be eligible for the scheme
- all veterinary medicine degree holders working for the organisation have to join as a part of the scheme.
- the starting band for this scheme is 1 - 10 members at a cost of £1,000. This means that there is a potential saving to organisations from the 5th member of staff onwards. If you have more than one site for your business, you can sign up staff from different places as a part of the same scheme, i.e - you wouldn't have to start at 1 - 10 for each location.
- other suitably qualified staff can join as Associate members as a part of the scheme. For example, if you have 8 vets who must be members, you can add 2 other Associates to reach the band boundary. Examples of Associate members are practice managers or vet nurses.
- there must be a named coordinator at the organisation who will be responsible for verifying details and receiving the invoice at each annual renewal point.
