Member benefits

Group members share the same member benefits as individual members, such as, access to BVA's discounted CPD and free personal subscriptions to In Practice and Veterinary Record.

To be eligible for the scheme

  • all veterinary medicine degree holders working for the group have to join as a part of the scheme
  • the starting band for this scheme is 1 - 10 members at a cost of £1,350. This means that there is a potential saving to groups from the 5th member of staff onwards.
  • if you have more than one site for your group, you can sign up staff from different places as a part of the same scheme, i.e - you wouldn't have to start at 1 - 10 for each location.
  • other staff can join as associate members as a part of the scheme. For example, if you have 8 vets who must be members, you can add 2 other associates, such as vets or practice managers, to reach the band boundary
  • there must be a named coordinator of the group who will be responsible for verifying details and receiving the invoice at each annual renewal point.

Is the group the member?

No, each employee who joins when their employer takes advantage of BVA's group membership scheme will become members or associate members of BVA in their own right. The group itself does not become a BVA member.

What constitutes a group?

A group constitutes any significant employer of veterinary medicine degree holders. For example

  • veterinary practices
  • educational establishments
  • research companies
  • government departments
  • charities and trusts
