Mediation service

Find out about the BVA's free mediation service - available to all members

Mediation is an excellent way of resolving disputes. It involves bringing the parties of a dispute together and helping them to reach agreement.

It is a voluntary process and issues discussed during mediation are confidential. Parties are free to say things that they would not be able to say in court and can do so in a relatively safe environment.

Mediation can allow parties to achieve resolutions that are beyond a court’s power to award and whilst mediation does not aim to produce winners and losers, more often than not, it's substantially better, less expensive and less stressful, than litigation.

Mediation requires compromise from both parties and usually both walk away with an agreement they can accept.

The mediation service is available to all BVA members, free of charge.

Member testimonial

I just wanted to send a quick e-mail to let you know how impressed I am with the legal representation service.  I was having a very difficult time at work and they were professional, helpful and reassuring in helping me in a very stressful situation.  Due to their excellent help and advice it did not go to an employment tribunal, but was fully sorted out.  I hope others make the most of this service and the mediation service..... this especially has shown me that it [BVA membership] is great value for money!
