   Bluetongue meetings in April

Having joined the Joint campaign Against Bluetongue (JAB) BVA encourages all vets to attend regional meetings in April to prepare for the arrival of the bluetongue vaccine.

NFU is advising its members to talk to their vet – prepare for their questions with key information, briefings and updates from the BVA website.

   One world, one disease

A one day conference examining the effects of climate change on patterns of animal health and the impact on humans will take place on 24 June in London.

The event has been organised by The Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Pets and poisons – keeping your animal safe

Our popular Pets and Poisons leaflet has been updated and is now available.

Produced in conjunction with the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS) the leaflet provides a valuable and easy reference guide for owners on preventing poisoning in the home, in the garden or in open spaces along with advice on what to do if you think your animal has been poisoned.

More information, including how to order individual copies or in bulk.

   Winner of the VETS.TV competition

VETS.TV was recently launched by the BVA at BSAVA Congress 2008, where we ran a competition for members to win a laptop.

We are happy to announce that Jo Arthur wins a HP 530 Celeron M 440 laptop, 2GB memory card and carry case.

VETS.TV is an online television site aimed at veterinary surgeons offering quality CPD programmes.

Having launched it as a pilot site we encourage BVA members to complete the online questionnaire during the pilot period to ensure it develops as they wish.
