University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago
The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago, offers opportunities for studies in veterinary medicine leading to the award of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
This five-year course is held in an attractive part of the world with a tropical climate where there is a mix of people from numerous countries, various ethnic backgrounds and different religions.
The SVM is part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and, as such, promotes the ‘one medicine’ concept with close interaction between veterinarians and members of the medical and dental professions. In addition, its veterinary undergraduate course provides opportunities for exposure to companion animals, food-producing species and wildlife.
