Bluetongue Vaccine - Situation in Wales

Wales has ordered 2.5 million doses of vaccine from Intervet and a further 5 million from Merial.

The Welsh Assembly has changed the Welsh Restricted Zone to a Welsh Protection Zone, allowing vaccination to commence from Friday 27 June in southeast Wales.

Livestock keepers in the Protection Zone can purchase vaccine through their veterinary surgeons as outlined in the UK delivery plan.
