This page is designed to provide the profession, parliamentarians and interested members of the public, including the media, with the BVA’s views on a number of current issues.
Policy briefs provide key facts, historical information, references, additional information and, where possible, an indication of the way forward. They are all working documents, subject to updating as and when required, and have been produced to communicate the ‘one voice’ of UK vets under the direction of the BVA’s Policy Liaison Group, a sub-group of the Veterinary Policy Group (VPG).
The development of policies and strategies is the role of the VPG and this page also includes links to our more substantial strategic papers, BVA Policy Documents and (for BVA members’ only) to BVA responses to consultation documents.
