National Veterinary Reserve

28 July 2003

"More recently we have welcomed the opportunity to discuss with colleagues in Defra our vision for an integrated national veterinary service and today's announcement by Animal Health Minister Ben Bradshaw represents a refreshingly new approach to the deployment of private sector veterinarians. Clearly there is much in the consultation paper that the profession will need to give detailed consideration to but it is very much to be hoped that this represents the start of a new era in public/private veterinary co-operation."
