Elbow Dysplasia Scheme
The main purposes of the scheme are the examination of radiographs of elbows of dogs for elbow dysplasia and the issue of a certificate in respect of that examination.
Elbow dysplasia (ED)has been identified as a significant problem in many breeds but as the principle cause of ED is genetic, screening can hopefully reduce the problem in the canine population through selective breeding. To find out more about the disease and why screening is important, please download and read the 'Elbow Dysplasia in Dogs' leaflet (.pdf 35Kb).
If you have decided to have your dog(s) screened, or to learn about the procedure of screening, please download and read the 'Procedure Notes' (.pdf 116Kb). Please read this leaflet before submitting your dog(s) as failure to do so may result in delays.
