Hip Dysplasia Scheme
The main purposes of the scheme are the examination of radiographs of hips of dogs for hip dysplasia and the issue of a certificate in respect of that examination.
The BVA CHS department in conjunction with The Animal Welfare Foundation, has produced a pamphlet to help you learn more. You can download and read 'A Guide for Dog Owners' (pdf file - approx 131KB). The text originally appeared in "You and Your Vet".
If you have decided to have your dog(s) screened, or to learn about the procedure of screening, please download and read the 'Procedure Notes' (pdf 71Kb). Please read this leaflet before submitting your dog(s) as failure to do so may result in delays.
You can view a list of the 'Breed Mean Scores'. The file is a PDF document.
