Health care for your pet

For further information on providing the best of care for your pet and getting the most out of your veterinary practice, download our PDF factsheet The Best of Care

Please also check our FAQ pages for information on becoming a vet, if you have problems with your local vet or if you are a qualified vet from overseas, who is looking to work in the UK.

Unfortunately, the BVA is unable to provide clinical advice for individual cases.  We would always advise that you contact your local vet when unsure about your animal's health.

Useful Contacts

There are several veterinary organisations who would be more able to deal with certain enquiries than the British Veterinary Association.  You will find links to these on our links page.

Membership

Membership of the BVA is open to qualified vets registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and to students on courses that will result in a qualification recognised by the RCVS.  If you are interested in joining please see our Joining page.

Veterinary History

If you are interested in veterinary history, have a look at the Veterinary History Society page.
