BVA TAWS Overseas Travel Grants application notes
In this section you can find out more about how to apply for a British Veterinary Association (BVA) and World Association of Transport Animal Welfare and Studies (TAWS) travel scholarship
Applicants must be attending a veterinary school in the United Kingdom. They must be student members of the BVA. Applicants should be in their clinical years. The project should be the applicant's own and not be part of an expedition. There must be an objective reasonably achievable in the time available (probably 6-8 weeks).
Applicants should be aware of the importance of being officially registered with the appropriate veterinary authorities before embarking on their projects.
- Successful applicants will be expected to join TAWS and support its activities. Recipients will be expected to write a 500-word summary together with supporting photographs of their experiences, in a form suitable for publication. The report must be sent to the BVA within two months of return to the UK.
The selection committee will comprise the BVA Overseas Group and representatives of TAWS.
Applications for the next tranche of grants will be considered in March 2012 - these will be for projects being undertaken during 2012.
The award will be announced in March/April 2012.
