The BVA new graduate guide
The main YVN publication, the BVA new graduate guide is available free of charge to all final year and newly graduated BVA members, up to 8 years qualified. The guide offers over 120 pages of support and information to help with those first years outside university, including
- your career options
- getting registered
- preparing your CV, application letters and job interviews
- working overseas
- dealing with consultations, complaints, emergencies
- communicating with colleagues and clients
- insurance and financial considerations
- advice from new and recent graduates
- graduate support
- lifelong learning
- prescribing and supplying veterinary medicines
How to get a copy
In May 2007, the guide was sent to all 2007 final year student members and new graduate members up to 8 years qualified.
Any new members in those categories who join after May 2007 will be sent it within a month of joining as part of their welcome pack.
Final year student members will receive their copy when they renew their membership in January of their final year.
