Welcome to the BVA's Young Vet Network
Easing your transition to professional life
|
The BVA recognises that new graduates represent the future of our profession, but that the transition from vet school to professional life can often be a hard one. As a result the BVA has set up the Young Vet Network (YVN) in order to provide additional support and services to BVA members in their final year and first 8 years after graduation. The YVN, launched on 23 May 2007, incorporates many different elements in order to support graduates in their first eight years in practice, including; |
|
|---|
• The BVA new graduate guide available free to all final year and newly graduated BVA members. The guide offers over 120 pages of support and information to help with those first years outside university.
In May 2007, the guide was sent to all 2007 final year student members and new graduate members up to 8 years qualified. Any new members in those categories who join after May 2007 will be sent it within a month of joining as part of their welcome pack. 2008 final year student members will receive their copy when they renew their membership for 2008.
• Graduate representation on the BVA Council - see representation section for further information.
• An online support network , where final year and graduate members are on hand to offer advice and support, answer questions, or even set up informal meetings with others in their areas.
• Free CPD courses - exclusively for our YVN members. Current courses.
• Discounted access to Vetstream - the online peer reviewed clinical information services about the veterinary care of dogs, cats, horses and rabbits. More information.
• Useful advice on dedicated section of the BVA website - packed full of useful tips and advice.
