Graduate representatives on Council

The BVA wants the voice of our recent graduate members to be heard and feels that a good platform for this to happen is Council.

In December 2006 we advertised to get two recent graduate members sitting on the BVA Council. Following a nomination and election process, two people were selected for the position of recent graduate Council representative.  They are; Kelly Bowlt - graduated from Edinburgh in 2005 and Louisa Rance - graduated from Cambridge in 2001.

Junior representative role - position available

Kelly's position as junior graduate representative will come to an end following the 2008 BVA Congress in September and we are seeking a new representative to take over.

If you

then perhaps this is the position for you.

The election process

The junior representative role will advertised from the beginning of May 2008.

Any member in their final year or up to 4 years qualified, can nominate themselves for position as a graduate representative on Council. In doing so you should feel satisfied that you meet the role description.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted no later than Friday 13 June 2008.

Nominations will be voted for by the Nominations and Awards Group on 3 July. Nominees will be informed of the decision the w/c 7 July.

Nomination forms should be emailed to Vicky Watkins at vickyw@bva.co.uk.  If you would like to nominate yourself but are unable to email the form, please call Vicky on 020 7908 6361 to discuss alternative methods.

Nominations cannot be made on behalf of another member.

Completed nominations will be submitted electronically to the Nominations and Advisory Group.  Successful nominees will be advised by phone when a decision is made and the results will be advertised in Off the Record and on the Young Vet Network section of the BVA website.

The position will begin 1 October 2008 and the first Council the graduate representative attends will be 3 December 2008.
