How to use this site
In this section you will find general guidance on how to use the site and information on the accessibility features of the BVA website
The email with which members register will need to match that we have stored on the database.
When setting your memorable question, please ensure that is something that is easy to remember but only you know the answer to. You will not be able to change this question once you are registered on the site.
When registering, you will need to put your full membership number into the required field, i.e. including the leading zeroes so that the number is a total of 6 digits long.
If there are any aspects of your membership details that you are unable to amend yourself because they are listed as your main contact or because the fields are locked, please contact our membership team on email@example.com or 020 7908 6350 and they will be able to do this for you.
Member restricted content
If you are a member and not logged in and there is a member restricted content on a page, it will be donated by
However, if you are logged in this box will not appear and all the content that is displayed in this panel will simply be shown on the page.
If a publication is for members only, but not in a restricted content panel at the bottom of the page, it will be donated by . You will need to login in order to view it.
Young Vet Network discussion forum
This forum is only accessible to members who are in their final year of study or up to eight years qualified.
Non-members can register for the site, however, they will not be allowed access to member restricted content. Non-members will first need to join the BVA before they can access that content.
All PDFs and links to external websites from this site will open in a new window. Please make sure you allow pop-ups for this site in order for these to open correctly.
Remembering your password
If you are using a shared computer, we suggest that you do not set the browser to remember your login details. This site contains links to your private data held on the BVA database.

BVA website accessibility
The BVA website has been built with accessibility in mind, by taking into account users who are visually impaired or have difficulties using a mouse, it is compatible with popular screen reading software, and can be navigated easily using a keyboard.

If you have any problems finding the information you require try using the keyword search located at the top right of every page or the A-Z search. The sitemap also provides a links to every page in the website.
In general, the site conforms to WAI WCAG 1.0 Priority 2 guidelines where HTML is used. Where documents are made available in other formats, conformance may not have been achieved.
Increasing text size
Some users might find the screen text easier to read by increasing the text size. You can increase, or decrease the screen text size by changing your browser settings:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
To change your browser settings on Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Larger or Largest.
To change your browser settings on Firefox, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Increase Ctrl + +, Decrease Ctrl + - or Normal Ctrl + 0.
To change your browser settings on Opera, go to the Tools menu, select Preferences then click on the Web pages tab. Select the normal font button. A dialogue box appears and provides options to increase/decrease font size, font type, weight and style.
