Antimicrobial resistance update in response to Jim O'Neill ReportM

The recent report by Lord Jim ‘ONeil, looks at the growing global problems posed by bacteria resistant to antibiotics, so called “superbugs”. It sets out the challenges across all professions that prescribe antibiotics and asks questions of society at large, so that generations to come will not have to revert to a world without antibiotics.

The webinar will explore the following statements:

  • What do we understand by resistance to antimicrobials?
  • What are the concerns and why?
  • What is the evidence base implicating animal health?
  • What can we do?
  • What do we need?
  • How do we measure success?

The session is led by John Blackwell BVSc MRCVS, Senior Vice President, BVA. John is a farm animal and equine practitioner, and a director at Brownlow Veterinary Centre in Shropshire.

Uploaded: 2016.
Running time: 63 minutes.
