Background: In recent years, the veterinary oncology community has started to consider lymphoma as being a multitude of different diseases. Different types of lymphoma respond differently to different treatments and carry different prognoses, so it is important to identify these individual forms rather than giving a blanket diagnosis of ‘lymphoma’.

Aim of the article: This article lists the various forms of lymphoma and describes the methods that are available for accurate identification of the different subtypes, which leads to better prognosis prediction and selection of the most appropriate treatment for patients.
