Students at Surrey vet school now gain accredited management and leadership skills as part of their vet degree.

The management and leadership skills taught at the vet school meet the standards of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Under a new partnership between the CMI and the university, vet students will gain a Level 5 certificate on completion of the third year of their five-year course.

Surrey vet student Yasmin Abou-Amer said: ‘It has been really fascinating, interesting and downright vital for us to know how businesses work...[and] the skills needed to run an effective veterinary business, regardless of the sector we go into.’
