An aspiring vet from a working class background is crowdfunding to go to vet school after the effects of the Covid-19 meant she lost out on opportunities to build up savings.
Amber Cordice (pictured), 21, from Gravesend, recently graduated with a first class degree in zoology from Anglia Ruskin University and had hoped to fulfil her dream of becoming a vet.
Having decided to work towards entering the profession via the graduate entry route, she secured a place at Harper and Keele vet school.
However, she now faces a funding challenge because of a lack of opportunities to find paid work during the pandemic (she has been shielding), and she cannot apply for a tuition fee loan as this will be her second degree. Therefore, she has to find £37,000.
