Reporting adverse events and lack of efficacy

To save vets’ time when submitting reports about adverse reactions and lack of efficacy of veterinary medicines, the Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET) has worked with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) to make it easier for participating practices to submit these reports to the VMD via SAVSNET.

SAVSNET has developed this functionality in response to the views of vets and vet nurses who, when surveyed, said they would be more likely to submit reports if they could do so easily via their practice management systems.

To submit a report, take the following steps: the SAVSNET dashboard has a button to click following any consultation where you identify a suspected adverse reaction or ‘lack of efficacy’ event. This will produce a report form that...
