Edinburgh refuses to publish evidence

The University of Edinburgh has refused a request by the BVA to publish the findings of an external investigation report into allegations of bullying and harassment at its vet school.

The association’s president James Russell said he was so concerned about what was happening at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies that last month he wrote to ask that a redacted version of the report by Intersol Global be published.

However, Moira Whtye, head of the college of medicine and veterinary medicine, refused.

Now Russell has issued a statement emphasising the need for complainants to be able to provide evidence without fearing consequences for their employment or careers.
