The British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA) has announced that the dairy certification programme MilkSure has become part of its broad education offering for farm vets and their clients.
MilkSure is a training programme for dairy farmers, delivered by vets, that focuses on avoiding medicines’ residues in milk. The scheme also covers stewardship of medicines, best practice for treatment protocols and reducing the risk of antibiotic resistance.
There are more than 3000 MilkSure-accredited farms in the UK, supported by over 300 farm vets who have participated in MilkSure training. The BCVA has enjoyed a successful partnership with the MilkSure team since 2016 and the programme is now transferring its administration entirely to the BCVA.
