The construction of a new building for the Harper and Keele vet school on Keele University’s campus is officially underway.
The building, which is set to open in early 2022, will incorporate teaching facilities, a clinical skills centre and a vet school hub – which will be a veterinary ‘home’ for Harper and Keele Veterinary School staff and students on the campus – along with facilities for other complementary courses.
Meanwhile, the new vet school welcomed its first cohort of 120 students earlier this month. The vet students will be housed at Keele University and Harper Adams University for a five-year programme of study toward a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVetMS) qualification, which will be delivered across both university sites to ensure the graduating vets have fully rounded skills and experiences to enable them to practise with excellence from day one.
