Event Description

Course programme (231KB PDF)

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

Geriatric patients now comprise a high proportion of the average practice's case load, probably as a result of improved preventative health care programmes and availability of more advanced diagnostics and therapeutics.

In this course delegates will be guided through some of the more common medical disorders identified in geriatric patients including renal disease, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, urinary incontinence and cognitive dysfunction.

Emphasis will be placed on a logical approach to these conditions so that a diagnosis can be made promptly and appropriate therapeutic interventions can be initiated. Case based examples will be provided where appropriate.

The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:

  • Diagnosis and management of kidney disease,  including using SDMA for earlier diagnosis
  • Diagnosis and management of feline hyperthyroidism and its complications
  • How to recognise and manage hypertension
  • The logical approach to urinary incontinence
  • How to recognise and manage cognitive dysfunction

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call Helen Dingle on 020 7908 6336.
