Event Description

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

This course will cover the most common orthopaedic problem seen in dogs – cruciate disease.

Information on aetiology and diagnosis of cruciate disease will be covered. An evidence-based approach will be used to outline the rationale for common techniques used in the management of cruciate disease in the dog and outline the current preferred technique, TPLO surgery.

In addition , the surgical technique will be covered in detail so that you have a full understanding of the most common procedure which will enable you to better understand what your patients are undergoing (even if it is not you doing the surgery). Common post-operative problems and complications will be discussed, including details on diagnosis and management of these.

Lectures on physiotherapy will be dovetailed into the day to address management of these cases from all aspects.

The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:

  • The importance of physiotherapy in the management of cruciate disease in the dog
  • How to identify and diagnose cruciate disease in dogs
  • The rationale and evidence behind the surgical management of cruciate disease in the dog
  • How to recognise and diagnosis the common complications following surgery for cruciate disease in the dog
  • Understand the use of physiotherapy to management of these cases

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call Laura Carleton on 020 7908 6336.
