Event Description

‘This course is now fully booked. If you would like to be added to a waiting list in case of any cancellations please email events@bva.co.uk.’

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

The introduction of a low iodine diet for hyperthyroidism, DOCP injections for hypoadrenocorticism, surgical options for hyperadrenocorticism, new insulin types for diabetes mellitus, and re-discovered common causes for diabetes mellitus, have made companion animal endocrinology a dynamic field in recent years.

This course will cover most of these recent issues in a series of dynamic lectures with plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions.

By focusing on the most common endocrinopathies, enough time can be spent on the real decisions all practitioners have to make on a daily basis when dealing with this type of patient.

After the course you will be able to make these decisions with more confidence, using the evidence based, logical approach provided by a lecturer who lives and breathes endocrinology on a daily basis in a busy clinical and clinical research environment.

The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:

  • Choosing the right treatment option for the individual hyperthyroid ca
  • The diagnosis and treatment options of hyperadrenocorticis
  • The diagnosis and treatment options of hypoadrenocorticis
  • Establishing the principles on which to base evidence-based diabetic managemen
  • Acquiring an overall increase in confidence in dealing with the most common small animal endocrinology cases

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call the CPD and Events Officer on 020 7908 6336.
