Event Description

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

Is that an interstitial or an alveolar pattern? Does that heart look a normal shape? Is that trachea displaced? With advanced diagnostic imaging remaining a referral hospital bonus, for most practitioners taking and interpreting thoracic radiographs is the first step in cardiorespiratory cases. It’s not always easy though.

Beginning with how to obtain the highest quality images to give you the best chance of diagnosing pathology, this course will also cover the all-important normal anatomy and variants. You’ll be taken through a systematic approach, considering the thoracic wall, pleural space, mediastinum, lungs and heart to ensure nothing is missed. Finally an interactive radiograph reading session will let you put the principles to the test identifying common and important diseases.

After attending the course you will be able to:

• Obtain good quality, diagnostic thoracic radiographs from your patients
• Recognise what is normal, including normal variants
• Use a logical approach to interpreting thoracic radiographs
• Recognise the radiographic appearance of common and important conditions
• Spot and avoid the possible pitfalls in radiographic technique and interpretation

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call Jessica Wachtel on 020 7908 6336.
