Event Description

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

Rabbit ownership is more and more popular so if the sight of a sick rabbit in your waiting room sends you racing for a textbook, this course will help you become a more rabbit-friendly vet. Today’s owners are often well-educated about their pets and expect the same service they would get for their dogs and cats, whilst presenting symptoms that could be considered mild in other species can spell disaster for a rabbit if not recognised and treated promptly. All of which adds up to headache for the less confident rabbit practitioner.

This course will guide you through every step from your approach and handling in the consult room through to diagnosis and treatment of the most common conditions. A session on improving your anaesthetic protocols for rabbits will reduce stress levels in theatre when you do have a sick rabbit on the table.

After attending this course you will be able to:

• Confidently work through your rabbit consults to gain the most accurate clinical picture
• Recognise an emergency presentation in a rabbit and react promptly
• Formulate a diagnostic plan for a range of common conditions
• Tailor your treatment plans, including tips on the best rabbit hospital environment
• Design safe and logical anaesthetic protocols for rabbits.

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call Jessica Wachtel on 020 7908 6336.
