Event Description

Registration will open at 09.30, with the course starting at 10.00. The course will finish at 16.00.

This one-day, case-based course will bring you up to date with recent therapeutic developments in companion animal medicine and dermatology. It will also help you make sense of the bewildering variety of ectoparasite control products on the market.

The course will explore the emergence of, and therapeutic options for, a range of UK diseases of increasing importance, including Angiostrongylosis. We will also cover diseases that may be associated with the growth of the Pet Travel Scheme such as Leishmaniosis, Babesiosis and Ehlichiosis.

The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:

  • Effective techniques for 21st century ectoparasite control
  • How to recognise and treat some novel UK diseases
  • How to make the most of recent therapeutic advances in dermatology, cardiology, oncology and endocrinology
  • How to be confident in recognising the indications for new treatments
  • How to be confident in prescribing new treatment options

This course is part of our Back to practice series. If you are planning to, or have recently returned to veterinary practice following a career break, our Back to practice series will increase your confidence and skills, as well as helping you build a support network to ease your transition back into working life. The speakers will update you on any changes since you were last in practice, and will refresh your knowledge in key areas. You can view the whole series of courses on the BVA CPD events page.

Please note - if you want to book three courses for the price of two please call Laura Carleton on 020 7908 6336.
