Other student membership benefits
Free student insurance
As part of the BVA membership package, students receive free extramural studies (EMS) insurance. That is, free personal accident, liability and hospital cash insurance package for all student members of BVA whilst involved in curricular activities. More information
EMS guides
We have produced EMS guides as a resource for both student and practitioner, raising awareness of the numerous issues to consider in order for everyone to get the most from the EMS experience.
Young Vet Network
As a student member in your final year, we introduce a free support initiative, the Young Vet Network (YVN), into your membership package.
The YVN aims make those first years outside university that little bit easier.
Association of Veterinary Students
The Association of Veterinary Students (AVS) is a specialist student division of BVA. AVS is the representational body for all vet students across the UK and Ireland. The AVS committee is made up of student representatives from each of the UK and Ireland Vet Schools.
International Veterinary Students' Association
Support from BVA means all UK vet students are members of the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA). There currently are over 35,000 student members from 50 countries.
Student exchange programmes are available.
