General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guide

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018. Although an EU regulation in origin, its principles have been incorporated into UK Data Protection law, sitting alongside the Data Protection Act of 2018. The regulation gives individuals control over how their personal data is used. Any organisation collecting personal data needs to abide by the regulation.

This guide gives you a basic overview of GDPR, with information on collecting data, records, using personal data, data retention and destruction, and accountability.
