We’ve got four vacancies for members willing to bring their lived experience of EDI challenges to the panel.

Applications are being accepted until 9am, Monday 16 June

Across all of our groups and committees we are looking to ensure a range of expertise, interests, and backgrounds. We recognise and champion the importance of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion and we are committed to ensuring that all members have equal opportunity to contribute to our work, including by making reasonable adjustments where needed.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group (EDIAG) plays a key role in advising on EDI considerations across a wide range of our activity. EDIAG works closely with BVA Officer and the BVA team to:

  • Advise Policy Committee and BVA working groups on EDI considerations relating to policy development.
  • Advise the Member Benefits and Events Committee on EDI considerations relating to the development of member benefits and resources.
  • Horizon scan for EDI issues of relevance for BVA

EDIAG is a relatively new group at BVA, originally convened informally in 2023 and more recently achieving approval from BVA Board and support from BVA Council as a standing committee.

  • One representative nominated by British Veterinary LGBT+
  • One representative nominated by British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society
