In October, we launched BVA’s Big Conversation, a profession-wide survey designed to understand the challenges and capture experiences of working as a vet today. We wanted to know what matters most to you, our members, and how we can best support you.

Thank you to everyone who took part. Over 4,000 of you completed the survey, providing a range of insights that will help inform our future plans.

Here’s a few areas that the research highlighted:

  • You told us that improving public perception of the profession was a priority.  We’ll continue to challenge negative media coverage and we’re also pushing our #InSafeHands campaign, which is highlighting the amazing work that vets do.
  • You told us you wanted more practical support and resources. We’ll be looking at how we can provide this as we develop our next strategic plan this year. In the meantime, we’ll do more to promote the fantastic resources already available, including our employment hubmenopause support, and online CPD library.

We’ll be exploring the member research findings in more detail over the coming months and will work to ensure BVA’s strategy aligns with your priorities.

A strong voice for vets

For over 10 years, our Voice of the Veterinary Profession survey has been critical for raising awareness and bringing about change on the issues that matter most to BVA members.

Our Voice survey regularly gathers invaluable insights directly from our members, giving you the chance to anonymously share your thoughts, opinions and experiences of working in the profession.

To make sure your voice is heard, look out for our surveys, and take part.
